Stephanie is passionate about helping clients through what is often the most difficult and challenging time of their lives. Having gone through a divorce herself, Stephanie understands the ways in which matrimonial disputes can impact the family on various levels, and affect an individual mentally, emotionally, and physically. A dutiful listener, Stephanie works diligently to understand the client’s concerns, priorities, and expectations. She aims at providing clients with realistic and practical advice, while supporting them as they navigate their way from the end of one chapter of their lives to another.
Stephanie has a keen interest in parenting cases. She is also interested in complex property matters, particularly those involving business owners that have more complex business structures that require greater scrutiny and analysis of business records.
Prior to joining Maleki Barristers, Stephanie worked in-house at a professional liability insurer where she defended claims against chartered professional accountants. Prior to that, she acted as duty counsel in criminal court after articling with the Ministry of Correctional Services. Stephanie’s experience in a variety of areas of law gives her a deeper understanding of the broader issues that may arise in family law matters.
Stephanie graduated from the national program at the University of Ottawa with a Common Law and Civil Law degree. She is bilingual and can practice in both English and French. Throughout her university years, Stephanie spent her summers in Lebanon where she worked for non-profit organizations to serve those less fortunate and in marginalized communities.
Outside the office, Stephanie is an avid swimmer and runner, and her favorite time in the world in spending it with her son.
