Sakshi is passionate about family law and helping clients during one of the most difficult times in their lives. She has experience in a wide range of issues, including parenting time, decision-making authority, child and spousal support and property division. Sakshi strongly advocates for clients both inside and outside of the courtroom. Her dedicated approach focuses on achieving a fair and efficient resolution for each client.
Sakshi joined the team at Maleki Barristers after practicing in a family law and civil litigation firm in Ottawa, where she was born and raised. During this time, she gained a deeper understanding of the intricacies of family law and worked on a high conflict family law trial.
Prior to being called to the bar, Sakshi summered and articled at a full-service firm in Toronto. She gained extensive drafting and litigation experience by working on matters that involved different levels of courts and tribunals in Ontario. She gained extensive knowledge in a wide range of practice areas including contract law, tax law, corporate law, and real estate law matters. By gaining experience in these different practice areas, Sakshi brings an interdisciplinary approach and understanding to her family law files. Sakshi co-authored a number of articles, which were published across different platforms including the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association.
Sakshi received her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa. While in law school, Sakshi was an active volunteer with Pro Bono Services Canada, the Community Legal Aid Clinic and local community homeless shelters.
In her free time, Sakshi can be found volunteering with dog rescues and the Humane Society as well as exploring her new hometown for the best food.
